As a dentist, as a dental practice in Shelby Township, Michigan, what makes us different? And there were 3 things that really came to mind that make us different. Number 1 is that I’ve been writing articles in a local newspaper called Senior Living News. I’m a guest columnist there, but I’ve been doing it for over 10 years, 10 or 11 years now and each month they come with an article that I write. So, I’m considered an expert in the field because the fact that we do most all different phases of dentistry. We can at our office; we can then look at a patient as they come in and give them an honest opinion about their situation. I don’t have any certain predisposed ideas about what anybody should have or shouldn’t have, I allow them to engage in a conversation and educate them about maybe the best course of treatment for themselves. Because we do all phases of dentistry, I’m not biased to one way or the other, since pretty much we have control over the whole process. But this as far as educating people and having been out of the graduating dental school for about 25 years, I have the ability and the experience to help get some people from where they currently are with.either, fear of the dentist. Embarrassed about their smile, we can transform their smile and make them into a new person.
The second thing I would consider that really makes us different is that because of this experience, we are able to help transform lives. And how we transform lives is by helping people from the very beginning. When they come in; number one many people are very fearful of the dentist when they come into the office and so therefore with that level of fear that they do have by listening to their needs and then giving them the assurance to know that they’re in a safe environment that they can listen to, we develop trust, and with trust allows a lot of opportunities to open up and develop, and through that process,
we can then transform lives by giving them the ability to smile to feel good about themselves again. The ability to change their health by getting their gums and their periodontal situation and bad gums into better health. The fact that they are not scared again they can come into the office on a regular basis without having that large level of fear. So I think we can help transform lives, I know we do, I see it on a daily basis and it’s exciting, it’s exhilarating to me. That’s why I wanted to go into dentistry many, many years ago is to help transform these lives. And number 3 is I think is something that makes us unique is our high level of technology we have here at the office. We don’t have any paper, we only use paper for paper charting. Everything is digital so therefore we can become compliant with the government’s demand by 2014 to have everything digital. So we’ve been doing this for the last 6 years, so we’re pretty much skilled at knowing what we need to do as far as digital and with technology.
