Dr. Antolak: Hi, this is Dr. Antolak from thegentledentist.com in Shelby Township, Michigan. And our phone number is 586-247-3500. Today we have Craig. It’s kind of a unique situation with Craig. He actually came to us how long ago? Maybe a year ago?
Dental Client: Little over a year ago.
Dr. Antolak: Little over a year ago.

Dr. Antolak: And, Craig was having a really difficult time with, you had a partial denture formed, right?
Dental Client: Yes.
Dr. Antolak: A lower partial.
Dental Client: Mm-hm.
Dr. Antolak: And some teeth were kind of loose, and we never could get it to fit right. In fact, this is the partial you had at the time. So what we did is we modified it a bit and we are able to do our locator, little attachments that fit inside the root. At the time I think you thought the concept was a little extreme.
Dental Client: I actually did yes, because I was always used to the lower partial with the clasps.
Dr. Antolak: Right, the little clasps that were on there and I said that we have something that we can do for you that will put less stress on your teeth. Because actually the teeth that we were holding before we lost those because of there was too much pressure on those clasps, those wires that go around the partial. So what we did was, if you want to come in closer, I can show you in Craig’s mouth. It’s clean because Marge just cleaned his teeth.
Dr. Antolak: Right on the bottom here. He’s got a couple of these little silver, brass colored things, are actually called attachments. And these are his natural teeth still in his jawbone, and what we were able to do is, we were able to retrofit his mouth and his natural teeth, his 2 eye teeth were actually able to do a couple of root canals on those teeth and place those brass colored veneers on it. And then on the inside of his existing partial we’re able to modify it and on the inside here you can see that there’s actually these other portions and they literally snap over the top of his natural teeth. And so we’re able to use his natural teeth as implants but the thing is his teeth were good. So we’re using those teeth to help support this mouth.
Dr. Antolak: And see if you can go ahead and place that back in your mouth.
Dental Client: Yes.
Dr. Antolak: And it was really a great thing because, now, he’s able to function well with it. A lot better than before, you told me earlier?
Dental Client: Tremendously better. Yeah, it’s very easy putting in. Very easy taking out, it doesn’t loosen any teeth because of the buttons that they go on and it’s working out great. It’s working out so much better than I originally thought because I thought the concept was kinda far out there. It’s working out terrifically.
Dr. Antolak: Great. Now with the advent of that but even if you didn’t have teeth in your mouth but you do have 2 teeth. We could actually place implants and use the exact same system we use with dental implants to snap lower dentures in if somebody has those.
