Shelby Dentist Explains the Relationship of Excessive Sugar Intake and Obesity

Refined sugar is found in so many of our food products that if you look on the label of any food product you will probably find this ingredient. What people don’t know is that if sugars aren’t used up through exercise that they will eventually turn into fat. With sedentary lifestyles, the lack of exercise and diets high in sugar and fats obesity obviously can set in. I am not bringing this topic up to make one feel bad about themselves but to provide some encouragement to you and the ones you love . I am also aware that this is nothing that you haven’t heard before.

Unfortunately, there are a number of patients I see who have a defeatist attitude in thinking that they can’t change. The truth is that change can take place as long as we are set up for success. Proper nutrition, exercise and accountability partners play a vital role in retraining your body to accept your new norm. Habits are hard to break whether it is smoking, sugar addiction or any other habit. In my opinion asking God to help you in this endeavor is the only way to make a change that will last a life time. We need help outside ourselves to look at that person in the mirror and see what is possible and to see the person you were intended to be.
